Actor Robin Renucci transforms the entire Ghjunsani region into a theatre venue where you can see plays produced during the Rencontres de Théâtre festival under the tuition of expert drama teachers. A great theatre experience for you to share and enjoy.
They have been the highlight of the summer for 28 years. For four weeks, nearly a hundred participants—actors and technicians alike—work together to create about ten productions, blending contemporary and classical works. Guided by experienced instructors, directors, artists, and technicians, this production workshop is a unique experience, rich in exchange and expertise—a wonderful collective adventure. The plays resulting from this training are presented to the public in August in the villages of Ghjunsani.

For these Rencontres, the audience is more than ever at the center of our shared reflections: a participatory audience, a “spect-actor” audience. We hope that this audience will truly participate in the development of the art of acting, directing, and theater-making in general.

Artistic workshops will take place throughout the summer to foster sensory awareness, give free rein to the imagination, and encourage self-expression within a collective. This alternative to passive cultural consumption is in the spirit of popular education. Before each performance, the artists will lead introductory workshops with the audience, featuring stage work, reading aloud, improvisation, circus arts, and more. Some workshops are reserved for adults, while others are designed for families to encourage shared participation between parents and children.

Our commitment is to reclaim the spoken arts in order to strengthen everyone’s ability to say “I,” to speak their own language, to resist the growing standardization of our societies, and to ensure that no one’s creative potential is surrendered to the promoters of mass culture.
